About

Hello I'm Paul.

I’m a maker who believes the best objects are the ones you reach for every day. The boards and wooden pieces you’ll find here are designed to be used, enjoyed and lived with – not hidden away for special occasions. Every item is made by hand, in small batches, with a focus on honest materials, thoughtful proportions and a finish that improves with age.

Wood has always been at the heart of my work. I’m drawn to its quiet character: the grain that tells a story, the subtle colour changes from board to board and the way it softens and deepens over time.

I work primarily with carefully selected hardwoods such as ash, beech, oak, cherry and sapele, chosen not just for their looks, but for their durability and suitability for everyday use. No two pieces are ever exactly the same and that individuality is something I actively celebrate.

My collections are intentionally simple and practical. Cutting boards are made to feel comfortable in the hand and stable on the worktop. Serving and cheese boards are designed to move effortlessly from kitchen to table, adding warmth and texture to everyday meals and gatherings.

Alongside these, I also create wooden dishes intended for jewellery and small personal items – functional objects that bring the same sense of craft into other areas of the home.

Design plays a big role in how each piece comes together. Paddle-style handles, balanced dimensions and gently softened edges are recurring details throughout my work. These choices aren’t just aesthetic; they’re about usability, comfort and longevity.

I aim for a style that feels modern yet timeless, so the pieces sit just as comfortably in a contemporary kitchen as they do in a more traditional space.

Sustainability and longevity also matter to me. Working with wood naturally encourages a slower, more considered approach, and I try to honour that by minimising waste and making pieces that are built to last. A well-made board shouldn’t be disposable – it should be something you care for, repair if needed and keep for years.

Ultimately, my work is about creating useful objects with character. Pieces that earn their place in your home, show the marks of use, and become part of daily routines.

Whether it’s a cutting board used every morning, a serving board brought out when friends visit or a small wooden dish that holds your everyday essentials, my hope is that each item adds a little warmth, tactility and intention to your space.
